For the high precision cutting of metals S.M.R.E. developed a series of heavy duty plotters that process the material with a high performance milling head.
For the high precision cutting of metals that are difficult – if not impossible – to cut with laser technology, S.M.R.E. offers SM-810-WJ, a highly efficient water jet machine that uses water and abrasives. Thanks to a simple and effective system called "Water Level Control" (WLC) the water level in the container can easily be managed. By pneumatically increasing or decreasing an air bubble in an expansion tank at the back of the table, the operator can raise or lower the water level in the collection tank with a speed of 6 cm in 15 seconds. Before placing the material on the cutting surface, the operator lowers the water level. The material is placed in the cutting frame, the operator pushes a button to raise the water level until the material is submerged. Now, the underwater cutting can start.
Another important advantage of the water jets developed by S.M.R.E. is that the work top is freely accessible. Instead of having to open, close and re-open the work area in between cutting jobs, the operator has immediate access to the work top, making it easy and comfortable to place the processed materials and remove them after cutting.
For the cutting of very thick steel, S.M.R.E. developed a high performance plasma cutting plotter. A special plasma application is also available for metal pipes.
