SM-800-WJ has a strong structure in steel and aluminum, designed to take on even the heaviest cutting jobs. Transmissions are in stainless steel racks with gapless helical teeth for optimal speed and control. The machine has 4 brushless motors: 2 on the X-axis, 1 on the Y-axis, 1 on the Z-axis. Instead of the highly efficient brushless motors, the machine can install linear motors to reach a top speed of 110 meters/minute with an acceleration of 30 meters/m² (≈3G).
S.M.R.E. water jets have limited operating costs, both compared to laser cutters and water jets constructed by other manufacturers. S.M.R.E. water jets have limited maintenance costs. Another important advantage of the SM-800-WJ is that the work top is freely accessible. Instead of having to open, close and re-open the work area in between cutting jobs, the operator has immediate access to the work top, making it very easy and comfortable to place the materials and remove them after cutting.
S.M.R.E. water jets have a dynamic cutting frame: the zero-point – the point where the machine starts to cut – can be decided either manually with a joy stick, or from the computer. The machine starts to cut wherever the operator decides to, an option that is particularly useful when cutting discard pieces of material or fabrics or materials, like leather, that are not of the same quality everywhere.
The water jet beam, the diameter of which is just a fraction of a millimeter, can perform extremely precise and complex geometrics on materials not suitable for cutting with conventional tools. SM-800-WJ will cut a wide range of materials with infinite precision.
The revolutionary element of this plotter compared to other water jets available on the market is that SM-800-WJ cuts relatively dry: the high speed and extreme precision of the micro jet ensure that the processed material will remain only slightly moist after cutting.
The Easy Works Extreme CAD/CAM software dedicated to this machine makes the operating of the SM-800-WJ easy and very efficient. In addition to the CAD/CAM program the operator can select a greats number of working options, like an automatic nesting program that fits the various shapes on the work top, optimizing the cutting sequence and greatly reducing discards. The S.M.R.E. software is compatible with all current CAD/CAM programs available on the market and can import and manage files written in DXF and EPS formats.
S.M.R.E. water jets make the even the toughest cutting job easy. It is hands free processing: the operator pushes the button and the machine starts to work. Until the cutting job is finished the operator has his hands free for other jobs.
S.M.R.E. introduced the possibility of 3D water jet cutting. With a cutting head moving along 5 axes – X (width of the plotter), Y (length), Z (distance from the cutting surface), W (rotation around the axis of the cutting tool) and inclination of the cutting head – SM-800-WJ can even cut complex shapes in 3 dimensions. Multiple cutting heads can be installed for simultaneous cutting. To further increase production output, S.M.R.E. developed a conveyor version of the machine, for continuous, never-ending cutting cycles.
