Main features

Unlike other machines available on the market, designed for cutting jobs in other industries, SM-330-TA was specifically developed to process heavy rolls of PVC. All its features – tools, accessories and software solutions – are built just for that: to cut and mark PVC with speed and great precision.
SM-330-TA simultaneously installs up to three cutting tools: a drag knife for high precision cuts of complex patterns, and two rotary blades for very fast cuts of straight lines, curves and circles. The Easy Works Xtreme software manages which tool cuts which pattern, sets the key cutting parameters for each tool and calculates the most efficient cutting sequence to reduce cycle time to an absolute minimum.
SM-330-TA is driven by powerful brushless servomotors and integrated electronics on the X, Y, Z and W axes. Designed for high speed cutting the machine reaches top speeds of 80 meters/minute with an acceleration up to 1G (10 m/s²).
Specifically designed for heavy duty cutting jobs, its solid industrial structure makes SM-330-TA suitable for the most challenging cutting work. The sturdy, multiple layer conveyor belt allows cutting of patterns of infinite length on heavy industrial fabrics. Its cleverly designed tools and accessories complete the machine and make it a highly efficient industrial cutting solution.
Based on the characteristics of the material that is processed, the operator chooses the menu from the tool database, and SM-330-TA will automatically set key cutting parameters such as speed and acceleration.
With its high speed and automatic pull-and-cut cycles, the machine ensures an enormous production output.
SM-330-TA works in full automatic, continues cycles. A computerized unwinder with edge control and a digitally controlled dancer system for automatic tension management feeds the fabric into the machine. SM-330-TA then cuts the programmed patterns and makes the next pull, until the programmed sequenced is done.
With its continuous pull-and-cut operation the industrial conveyor belt allows for the creation of very large shapes in a very limited space. If the cut patterns are wider than the roll, the Split Box software module divides the patterns into smaller pieces that can be processed on the machine. With Split Box, stadium covers, tarpaulins, swimming pool covers, tension structures and industrial doors can be created on a machine with a cutting frame that is infinitely smaller than the finished product.
Two powerful vacuum turbines and the tough but breathing conveyor belt surface ensure optimal vacuum grip on the processed material. The worktop is sectioned in two zones enabling the machine to concentrate the full vacuum power in the area where the processed material is placed, a feature that is very effective when smaller rolls are cut.
A variety of precision tools and accessories were specifically designed to deliver quality cuts and extreme precision. With their clever industrial design, tools can be installed individually or simultaneously, in any combination, providing an enormous variety of cuts on a wide range of fabrics.

Allows for high cutting speeds on a wide range of fabrics and materials. Relatively inexpensive to purchase and maintain. Extension range of the blade and cutting pressure can be adjusted according to thickness and characteristics of the cut material. Delivers high precision work. Originally developed to punch holes on heavy leather, the motorized, rotating motion, can process heavy fabrics and materials such as industrial conveyor belts or heavy PVC. Creates holes with a very small diameter at a very high speed.

Simultaneously holds up to 6 standard rolls and 1 jumbo roll. Features digital edge control technology with twin sensors that read the exact position of the fabric and – if necessary – automatically corrects the position of the roll. Features automatic tension management by a digitally controlled dancer system to ensure a very smooth fabric feed.

By moving a laser dot over the cutting frame with the joystick on the control panel the operator can choose a new ZERO point: the X-Y coordinates on the cutting frame where the machine starts its cutting cycle. This is an important tool when processed materials are not of the same quality everywhere (as is often the case with natural materials such as leather) and further increases the versatility of the machine by making it suitable to process leftovers that would otherwise be discarded.

A very cost effective accessory that holds a conventional ballpoint, a felt-tip pen, or any other type of marker. Moves over the fabric following CAD patterns. Will make reference marks, draw lines, curves, circles or even highly complex shapes, letters and numbers.

Made of extremely solid, multiple-layer industrial textile, the belt guarantees durability, precision, and a very high quality of the cut. When used correctly it can handle many years of intensive production without needing to be replaced – ever. Lateral grippers made of solid steel and multiple cylinders ensure the synchronized movement of the belt and the processed fabric. The powerful vacuum turbines assist the machine in controlling the fabric during the pull, while flattening and securing it to the cutting surface during the cutting cycle.

Software solutions

Easy Works Xtreme CAD/CAM

Calculates the most efficient way of cutting one pattern after the next. Easy Works saves the optimal settings for every cutting job, including the most suitable tool, the optimal acceleration and the maximum speed, a feature that makes it very easy to repeat a job without having to reprogram the machine. The operator simply chooses the memorized settings from the menu and the machine will set the parameters automatically.

Automatic nesting

When more than one complex pattern needs to be cut the nesting module automatically calculates the most efficient way to fit the shapes on the cutting frame and cut as many pieces as possible out of the available material. The nesting program fits the patterns like a puzzle and reduces discards to an absolute minimum. Nesting optimizes the production cycle in terms of speed and use of material and quickly and automatically carries out a highly complex calculation that would take an expert programmer a very long time.

Split Box

Designed to manage the creation of patterns that are larger than the cutting frame or wider than the roll. Automatically calculates the overlaps needed for the bonding of the fabric in a subsequent step in the production cycle. Integrates lateral hem or pockets, eyelets or reference marks. Makes calculations that would otherwise take a great deal of time and require the intervention of an expert designer. Very large products such as stadium covers and tension structures can be created on a machine with a cutting frame that is infinitely smaller.

Macros

The macro software packages enable the operator to program highly complex cutting jobs by entering a limited number of key parameters. By inserting a value for each parameter the machine translates the information into a cutting file and start the job with a simple push of the button. Macros greatly simplify the production cycle and save a lot of time, allowing unskilled operators to work with a technologically highly advanced machines. Macro packages are often custom made according to your production requirements.
