SM-375-TA enables manufacturers in a wide range of industries to cut patterns of superior quality from an infinite range of fabrics and materials. Whether you produce blinds, pergolas, banners and signs, shade sails, pool covers, tunnels, tents and shelters, tarpaulins, inflatable products, cinema screens, containments bladders, industrial doors, fire retardant curtains, or wind breaker barriers, SM-375-TA ensures quality cuts, extreme precision and an elevated efficiency.

Main features

SM-375-TA installs a variety of industrial cutting technologies, individually or simultaneously, in any combination, providing an enormous versatility of applications. Based on the fabrics you use in your production SM-375-TA allows you to pick just the technology – or combination thereof – you need and create highly professional, quality products.
SM-375-TA has a modular structure. Available in various widths, SM-375-TA can be made as long as you require, making it suitable to cut patterns of any size. Top of the bill electronic and pneumatic components, heavy duty parts and a solid work top for heavy duty cutting jobs complete this highly efficient manufacturing solution.
Besides the customizable dimensions of the cutting frame SM-375-TA installs a selection of specifically designed accessories in a variety of combinations allowing an infinity of machine configurations: a grip-and-pull system to spread the fabric on the work top and completely automate the cutting cycle; a set of pneumatic pressing bars to secure breathing fabrics to the work top and guarantee high precision cuts; a backlit illumination system to detect flaws in the fabric before it is spread on the work top; a fabric roll warehouse installed in the empty space underneath the machine with; a motorized unwinding system with electronic edge control and digitally controlled dancer for automatic fabric tension adjustment; a series of motorized rewinding systems placed on the side or at the back of the machine to roll up the cut panels.
Based on the characteristics of the material that is processed, the operator chooses the menu from the tool database, and SM-375-TA will automatically set key cutting parameters such as speed and acceleration.
SM-375-TA works in automatic cycles. A computer controlled grip-and-pull system pulls the fabric off of the roll, the machine cross cuts the fabric to size, spreads the sheet on the work top, then starts the cutting job according to the programmed CAD pattern. Full automatic.
A powerful vacuum turbine and specially designed hole patterns of in the worktop ensure optimal grip on the processed materials. The (optional) sectioning of the work top in multiple zones enables the machine to concentrate the full vacuum power in those areas where the processed materials are placed. This option is particularly important when the pieces of material are much smaller than the cutting frame and ensures great precision of the cut.
The basic machine work top is made of sturdy panels in polyethylene with a special perforation pattern that allows the vacuum turbine to get a firm grip on the processed materials. The machine is supplied with steel sheets to cover the cutting surface whenever ultrasonic or laser cuts are made.
Motion is created by highly efficient brushless servomotors, controlled by industrial CNC with ISO programming. The motors run on massive steel racks to guarantee maximum control, speed and acceleration and delivery high precision cutting work.

The advantages offered by laser technology include the fact that the processed materials are not physically touched during the cutting cycle, allowing even breathing materials to be cut with high speed and extreme precision. The heat generated by the laser beam sears the fabric, thus preventing it from fraying – another significant advantage of this technology. Laser is suitable for an infinite variety of patterns on a wide range of fabrics and materials: from straight lines to curves, from extremely complex patterns to holes with an extremely small diameter (0,5 mm). Laser even creates kiss-cuts and die cuts.

Allows for high cutting speeds on a wide range of fabrics and materials. Relatively inexpensive to purchase and maintain. Extension range of the blade and cutting pressure can be adjusted according to thickness and characteristics of the cut material. Delivers high precision work. Suitable for straight cuts, curves, very complex shapes and holes with very small diameters.

A non-motorized, freely moving blade that allows for very high cutting speeds. Available in various diameters according to your production requirements. Extension of the blade and cutting pressure are adjusted according to the thickness of the cut material. Highly efficient, cost-effective tool for single-ply cutting of specialty fabrics and composites such as carbon and glass fiber.

The heat generated by the ultrasonic vibrations sears the fabric during the cut and prevents the edges from fraying. The tool exerts great pressure on the material and is used for straight cuts in X or Y direction (along the axes of the machine). The ultrasonic cutting head is most efficient in combination with the pressing bars that secure the fabric on the work top during the cut. Ultrasonic cutting is typically used on acrylic, polyester, and PVC coated fiber glass (Screen).

Originally developed to punch holes in heavy leather, its motorized, rotating motion allows this tool to process heavy fabrics and materials such as industrial conveyor belts or heavy PVC. Creates holes with a very small diameter at a very high speed.
Creasing head

Makes a pre-fold or linear mark in the material or fabric by pressing into the surface without actually making a cut. Available in various diameters, the design of the wheel surface can be customized according to the processed fabric or the required shape of the crease.
Marker pen

Marker pen

A very cost effective accessory that holds a conventional ballpoint, a felt-tip pen, or any other type of marker. Moves over the fabric following CAD patterns. Will make reference marks, draw lines, curves, circles or even highly complex shapes, letters and numbers.

Laser pointer for the dynamic zero point

By moving a laser dot over the cutting frame with the joystick on the control panel the operator can choose a new ZERO point: the X-Y coordinates on the cutting frame where the machine starts its cutting cycle. This is an important tool when processed materials are not of the same quality everywhere (as is often the case with natural materials such as leather) and further increases the versatility of the machine by making it suitable to process leftovers that would otherwise be discarded.

Software solutions

Easy Works Xtreme CAD/CAM

Easy Works Xtreme calculates the most efficient way of cutting one pattern after the next. Easy Works saves the optimal settings for every cutting job, including the most suitable tool, the optimal acceleration and the maximum speed, a feature that makes it very easy to repeat a job without having to reprogram the machine. The operator simply chooses the memorized settings from the menu and the machine will set the parameters automatically.

Automatic nesting

When more than one complex pattern needs to be cut the nesting module automatically calculates the most efficient way to fit the shapes on the cutting frame and cut as many pieces as possible out of the available material. The nesting program fits the patterns like a puzzle and reduces discards to an absolute minimum. Nesting optimizes the production cycle in terms of speed and use of material and quickly and automatically carries out a highly complex calculation that would take an expert programmer a very long time.

Split Box

Designed to manage the creation of patterns that are larger than the cutting frame or wider than the roll. Automatically calculates the overlaps needed for the bonding of the fabric in a subsequent step in the production cycle. Integrates lateral hem or pockets, eyelets or reference marks. Makes calculations that would otherwise take a great deal of time and require the intervention of an expert designer. Very large products such as stadium covers and tension structures can be created on a machine with a cutting frame that is infinitely smaller.

Macros

The macro software packages enable the operator to program highly complex cutting jobs by entering a limited number of key parameters. By inserting a value for each parameter the machine translates the information into a cutting file and start the job with a simple push of the button. Macros greatly simplify the production cycle and save a lot of time, allowing unskilled operators to work with a technologically highly advanced machines. Macro packages are often custom made according to your production requirements.

Tracking Power Control (TPC)

Automatically synchronizes the laser power with the moving speed of the cutting head and ensures very high cutting quality even when complex patterns are cut on very difficult materials such as paper, cardboard, leather, or light colored specialty fabrics.
